Golden Key Group Announces Jeffrey Fowler as President

The new leadership role signals an exciting time of growth for the company

Reston, VA— March 31, 2021—Golden Key Group (GKG), a professional services firm providing workforce optimization solutions, announces Jeffrey Fowler as its first-ever President. Fowler will work closely with GKG’s CEO and Managing Partner, Gretchen McCracken, to further the company’s mission of creating innovative workforce optimization solutions within the federal government.

Fowler, a retired Navy Vice Admiral, brings decades of experience in operations to GKG. In the military, his roles included Superintendent of the U.S. Naval Academy, head of all nationwide Navy recruiting, and captain of a fast-attack submarine. In the civilian sector, Fowler was a senior leader at a higher-education company, and president of a government services organization.

“Jeff leads from the front and is an expert at building cultures of collaboration, respect and accountability,” said McCracken. “As we continue to hone an assertive growth path, Jeff’s operational excellence will be pivotal in helping drive GKG forward.”

McCracken will remain focused on GKG’s robust market expansion strategy and having a strong presence with customers and within the industry. Fowler will oversee all program and business operations, concentrating on GKG’s day-to-day execution.

“Gretchen’s successful performance on contracts, meticulous planning, and keen eye for the right talent has positioned GKG to serve the government and create a higher performing federal workforce,” said Fowler. “I’m thrilled to take on the role of president and advance the work our talented group has done to get to this phase of our growth.”

Fowler joined GKG in September of 2020 as Vice President of Navy Programs. His elevation to president is in conjunction with several other significant promotions and addition of key personnel to the team. John Potts, a retired Army Colonel, is promoted to GKG’s new Executive Vice President of Growth. Reginald Bullock, a retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel, is GKG’s new Director of Business Capture. Longtime employee, Donnielle DeMesme, is leading GKG’s new Office of Inclusion and Culture as a Managing Director. “All of these roles are critical components of our long-term strategic growth plan,” said McCracken.

GKG has also built a strong team to support the Department of Commerce with Personnel Action Request, Payroll, and Benefits (PP&B) Services – a $110 million contract they were awarded in October 2020. “Our highly-qualified specialists will ensure effective, efficient, and responsive PP&B services for 46,000 employees across all Commerce bureaus,” said McCracken.

Investing in top-notch talent illustrates GKG’s commitment to deliver excellence for the Department of Commerce and the company’s interest to move further in the shared and managed services space.
